Child Custody Investigation SingaporeWhen family is at stake, the truth protects.
Licensed investigators who document what is really happening — for custody and access, domestic helper concerns, teen safety and harassment — with the highest duty of care, in full compliance with Singapore’s family and child welfare laws.
A child custody investigation is the lawful, discreet observation and documentation of a parent’s conduct and activities in public or legally accessible places, prepared as factual evidence for your lawyer and the Family Justice Courts. Because the child’s welfare is the paramount consideration, good evidence is calm, accurate and focused on the child — never sensational.

Family investigation services
Custody, domestic helper & personal safety investigations in Singapore
Four quiet, specialist services — each built around one question: what keeps the people you love safe?
Your child’s wellbeing is the priority.
We observe and document parental conduct and activities in public and legally accessible places — calmly, factually and time-stamped — so your lawyer can put an accurate picture before the Family Justice Courts.
No drama, no exaggeration. Courts value evidence that is balanced and focused on the child.
Commonly used for
- Observation in public & legally accessible places
- Access and handover documentation
- Time-stamped photo & video log
- Factual report prepared for your lawyer
Fair to your family. Fair to your helper.
A domestic helper investigation verifies the background and conduct of a foreign domestic worker when there are genuine honesty or welfare concerns — for your children, an elderly parent, or the helper herself.
We check facts respectfully and report them plainly, including when a concern turns out to be unfounded.
Commonly used for
- Background verification from lawful sources
- Conduct checks in public areas
- Welfare-focused, non-punitive approach
- Clear findings to support a fair decision
Worried, not controlling — know enough to have the right conversation.
When parents have real safety concerns, we discreetly observe a young person’s public activities and document associations, movements and behaviour patterns — nothing more intrusive than that.
We never access a teenager’s phone, messages or social accounts.
Commonly used for
- Discreet observation in public places
- Associations & movement patterns
- Sensitive, age-appropriate reporting
- Guidance on next steps as a family
Feeling watched is exhausting. Evidence gives you back some control.
A structured personal safety threat assessment of threatening behaviour, stalking or harassment. We document incidents lawfully and compile evidence to support protection order applications under the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA).
Commonly used for
- Risk evaluation & safety advice
- Incident documentation & evidence compilation
- Lawful observation to identify patterns
- Bug & GPS tracker sweeps if you feel tracked
Our duty of care
Child-first by design
Your child’s wellbeing is the priority. How every Ranger family case begins
- 01
Children stay out of it
We never approach, question or involve a child. Observation is of adults’ conduct, in public or legally accessible places.
- 02
Facts, not ammunition
Reports are balanced and time-stamped. Evidence that reads as point-scoring rarely helps a family — or a court.
- 03
Dignity for everyone involved
Parents, helpers and young people are treated with respect. A concern that proves unfounded is reported just as clearly.
- 04
Lawful at every step
Conducted in full compliance with Singapore’s family and child welfare laws, the Private Security Industry Act and the PDPA.
Harassment & stalking
Being harassed or stalked in Singapore? Start an incident log.
A clear, dated record is the backbone of any harassment investigation — and of a protection order application under POHA. Build yours here, privately, then keep it or share it with us.
- Write it the same day. Memory fades; dates and times matter.
- Facts, not feelings. What was said or done, where, for how long.
- Keep originals. Screenshots, call logs, photos, lift or door-camera footage you own.
- Note witnesses. A neighbour, a guard, a colleague.
- Don’t confront or retaliate. It can escalate risk — and muddy the evidence.
No entries yet. Add the most recent incident first — you can add as many as you need.
Nothing is saved or sent. Your log lives only on this screen and disappears when you close or refresh the page — copy it somewhere safe, and clear it when you’re done on a shared device. If you are in danger, call 999 now.
Singapore context
Family investigations and Singapore law — what to know
Good evidence fits the system it will be used in. These are the frameworks that shape our family work.
- 01 · Family Justice Courts
The child’s welfare comes first
In custody, care and control and access matters, the child’s welfare is the paramount consideration. Evidence that helps is calm, factual and about the child — not about scoring points against the other parent.
- 02 · POHA
Harassment and stalking protections
The Protection from Harassment Act gives people who are harassed, stalked or threatened ways to seek protection orders. A clear, dated record of incidents helps your lawyer assess your options.
- 03 · Domestic workers
Domestic helper investigations: fair to both sides
MOM sets clear expectations for the fair treatment and welfare of migrant domestic workers. Our checks are respectful and evidence-led — a fair process protects your family and your helper alike.
- 04 · Emergencies

Within the law
What a family private investigator will — and won’t — do
Unlawful “evidence” can hurt your case and your family. Here is exactly where we draw the line.
What we do
- Observe and document adults’ conduct in public or legally accessible places
- Verify a helper’s background from lawful, official sources
- Record harassment incidents precisely for your lawyer or a POHA application
- Sweep your own home or car for hidden cameras or GPS trackers
- Tell you plainly when a concern is not borne out
What we will never do
- Approach, question or involve your child
- Enter a home, school or private premises without permission
- Access phones, messages or social accounts that aren’t yours
- Place a tracker on a vehicle you don’t own
- Set up hidden cameras in a helper’s sleeping or bathing area
- Confront, threaten or provoke anyone

FAQ
Custody, helper & harassment investigation questions
Can a private investigator help with a child custody case in Singapore?
Yes. A licensed investigator can observe and document a parent’s conduct and activities in public or legally accessible places — for example around access handovers — and prepare a factual, time-stamped report for your lawyer. The Family Justice Courts decide custody, care and control and access with the child’s welfare as the paramount consideration, so we keep evidence calm, accurate and child-centred. We’re not a law firm — your family lawyer advises on how evidence is used.
Is it legal to gather evidence for a custody dispute?
It is legal to engage an agency licensed by the Singapore Police Force, and Ranger holds Private Investigation Agency Licence L/PS/000759/2025. What matters is method: we work only in public or legally accessible places, never approach or involve the child, never enter private premises and never access anyone’s phone or accounts.
How do you investigate a domestic helper fairly?
We treat a domestic helper investigation as fairness to both sides. Pre-employment screening verifies background from lawful sources; conduct checks rely on lawful observation in public areas and the facts you can share. Many checks clear a worker’s name, and we report that just as clearly. We respect MOM’s expectations on the fair treatment and welfare of foreign domestic workers.
Can you monitor my teenager without invading their privacy?
Teenager monitoring is only appropriate where there is a genuine safety concern — worrying associations, suspected substance misuse or truancy, for example. We discreetly observe public activities and report associations, movements and patterns. We never access a young person’s phone, messages or social accounts. The aim is to help you have the right conversation, safely.
What should I do if I am being harassed or stalked in Singapore?
If you are in immediate danger, call 999. Otherwise, start a dated incident log, keep original messages, call logs and photos, note any witnesses and avoid confronting the person. Under the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA) you may be able to seek a protection order — speak to a lawyer about your options. We can document incidents lawfully and carry out a personal safety threat assessment.
What is a personal safety threat assessment?
It is a structured evaluation of the risk posed by threatening behaviour, stalking or harassment. We review what has happened, document incidents, look at patterns and advise on practical safety steps — producing a clear record that can support a protection order application or your lawyer’s evidence compilation.
Will the other parent, my helper or the person harassing me find out?
Our work is discreet and your enquiry is confidential, handled in line with the PDPA. Investigators operate low-key in public places and share findings only with you, or with your lawyer if you ask us to.
How much does a family investigation cost?
It depends on scope — how many days or evenings of observation, locations, manpower and reporting needs. After a free, confidential consultation we give you a clear quotation before any work begins.
